He skirted the edge of death.
A Utah mountain biker displayed nerves of steel after rocketing along a narrow path bordered by a terrifyingly steep ravine, as seen in this white-knuckle clip. The daredevil had uploaded the clip to Instagram in May, but it’s currently going viral as gawkers marvel at the death-defying feat.
“Don’t fall left,” reads the caption to the clip, which Utah native Erik Henrickson posted on May 28. The account manager, who says he loves exploring new places, had cut the compilation from vids he shot while cycling for 9 miles along some of the most dangerous mountain bike trails in the US, the Daily Mail reported.
Indeed, the clip shows the brass-balled adrenaline junkie riding at a breakneck pace along a winding path — which seems to be only a foot wide at certain sections — with a terrifying drop just inches to his left.
At one point during the high-altitude hell-ride, Henrickson was reportedly a whopping 3,000 feet above sea level.
If that wasn’t terrifying enough, the cycle path can intermittently be seen raising the front wheel of his bicycle in a move known as a “manual.” Even Henrickson admitted that he didn’t feel comfortable performing this maneuver while so close to the edge, according to the Daily Mail.
Instagram gawkers were unsurprisingly scared witless by the stunt. “Thanks for making my hands all sweaty, bro,” said one petrified viewer. Another wrote, “I’m ready for you to stop this. Sorry, not sorry.”
The mountain bike montage was just one of many bike vids Henrickson’s shared with his 22,000 Instagram followers. In another hair-raising clip, the thrill-seeker can be seen hurtling along a precariously narrow boardwalk in the woods like an off-road tight-rope cyclist.
