A 3-year-old UK girl who was repeatedly misdiagnosed with constipation died from stomach cancer, according to a report.
Aoife Flanagan-Gibb of Essex passed away July 7, just days after her family finally received the correct diagnosis, the Mirror reported.
“She’d been in and out of the hospital with different infections and problems but they kept telling us she had common child constipation,” her mom, Eilish Flanagan, told the outlet.
Flanagan said she brought the child to doctors nearly a dozen times to find out what was ailing her.
“She’d been in and out of the hospital with different infections and problems but they kept telling us she had common child constipation,” Flanagan told the outlet.
Five days after doctors correctly diagnosed her, she died in her mother’s arms in the hospital, the outlet reported.
“It was completely unexpected. She had a huge cardiac arrest,” her mom told the outlet. “I held her because I knew something was wrong with her. She died in my arms.”
