Disney Is Making Adorable Character Face Masks—And Donating the Profits

By | August 16, 2020

Disney isn’t just about Dole whip and spectacular fireworks displays. Though the U.S. theme parks are closed for safety reasons, the beloved brand is now selling patterned face masks featuring some of its most iconic characters. Even better, it’s for a good cause! Find out approximately how much money Disney is losing while its parks are closed.

Face masks make sense

It’s hard to believe that just a few short months ago, wearing face masks seemed like a strange concept. Now, the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendation encourages everyone to wear masks in public. Some individual stores are requiring them, too. Starting May 4, Costco is asking all guests to wear face masks or full-face coverings when shopping.

Where can I get Disney masks?

The masks come in small, medium, and large sizes and will be available in four-packs for $ 19.99. Each bundle has a theme, such as Disney princesses, Pixar, and Star Wars. (We can’t wait to get our hands on the Baby Yoda one!). You can pre-order the masks now on shopDisney.com, and it’s estimated to ship in June.

It’s for a good cause

If the adorable designs aren’t enough for you to click “Add to Cart,” know that Disney will donate up to one million dollars in U.S. mask sales to MedShare, an organization that delivers medical supplies and equipment to communities all over the world. Disney will also donate one million face masks to MedShare for children and families in need.

While you’re waiting for your masks to arrive, don’t forget that a DIY mask is better than nothing.
