Time is of the essence if you are having a heart attack. The symptoms may vary from pain in the left arm radiating into the shoulder and neck, shortness of breath, severe indigestion or cramping, profuse sweating, light headiness or nausea. You may have some or many of these symptoms.
The important take away message is that a heart attack is an emergency. You have a two hour window to get treatment before there is damage to the heart muscle. Also remember that the symptoms in females frequently are different than in males. A 2018 Swiss study in the European Heart Journal showed that women suffering heart attacks wait an average of 37 minutes longer to call for help.
