Life Extension – Will You Live To Be 120?

By | October 10, 2018

According to James Vaupel PhD, a demographer at Odense University Medical School in Denmark, any child born in Europe of the USA today can expect to live to be 100 years old. He base his findings on a review of birth and death data for millions of Swedes and Danes. The life expectancy of a Swedish centenarian and octogenarian has increased by 50% and 60% respectively over the last 50 years.

Although some experts claim that there is a natural cap on human lifespan due to genes that simply wear out, Vaupel claims that there is no such genetic cap, just a genetic tendency. As evidence, he points out that the natural lifespans of identical twins are no more alike than those of unrelated individuals.

Two hundred years ago the average life expectancy of an American was 35.5 years. In 1880 it was still only 42.6. In 1900 it had risen to 47. Today it is 78.7. It would be very surprising if there were not continual advances in life expectancy. Just as people did not believe that any athlete would run a mile in less than 4 minutes, so there are many who believe that a life expectancy of around 110 is the limit. Yet just as average athletes now routinely run a mile in under 4 minutes, so will people live to 120 and beyond.

An extended life span is not the stuff of science fiction but will shortly be an undisputed reality as a consequence of the major advances being make in the fields of genetic engineering, biotechnology, agricultural bio-technology and bio-nutrition.

Of course just because the technology may become available it doesn’t mean you will be able to benefit from it.

Since humans in the Western world are becoming increasingly obese, with increasing levels of chronic disease and ever increasing levels of chemical toxicity, it seems that the trend of life extension will actually reverse.

Those that rule the planet may deem it to not be in the interests of the planet to have an expanding human population. In fact we know they would like to see a great reduction in the population. Most likely, life extension technologies will only be available to the wealthiest people. So if you want to live to be 120 it looks like you are going to have to find a way to get rich, so you can live in a clean environment, eat the best foods, and enjoy the best medical care. Good luck!
