So how do you harness Jordan’s fitness zeal and grab a piece of it for yourself? Simple. Read on for a few of Jordan’s closely guarded fitness secrets. Let’s get ready to rumble.

Find your ‘why’

For some people, the weights room just isn’t enough. Jordan hones his body to improve in his chosen discipline: boxing. “It’s a primal feeling for me, hitting a bag or another body,” he says. “When you hit it clean, you just know it. You feel it. It just flows and it connects. Searching for those perfect punches is cool.”

Time to unwind

“Taking a moment or a break is super important, and it’s something I’ve recently learned to do.” Jordan uses basketball and meditation, which is a solid, science-backed approach. Rutgers University found 30 minutes of meditation followed by 30 minutes of exercise improved mood, anxiety levels and tanked feelings of depression.

Earn your burn

“I told myself at a young age I was going to sacrifice,” says Jordan. “I don’t go out all the time. I don’t party… I try to evolve and grow and work on myself.” Jordan’s success is built on sweat equity, whether it’s giving up a post-work pint for a workout or getting up at 4am for an early shoot. Set yourself a goal, be it a half marathon or a PB in six months, and work to that, amending your social life as appropriate. If you know you’ve got a 9am run planned on Saturday, make sure you’re up with a clear head.
