Report: Walgreens Plans To Sell CBD Products in 1500 Stores

announced its plan to introduce cannabidiol (CBD) products in certain stores this week, Walgreens has followed up with even bigger plans for the popular cannabinoid chemical.

CNBC reported Wednesday that Walgreens plans to start selling CBD-containing creams, patches, and sprays in close to 1,500 stores in nine states around the country.

Walgreens spokesman Brian Faith told CNBC,  “This product offering is in line with our efforts to provide a wider range of accessible health and wellbeing products and services to best meet the needs and preferences of our customers.”

According to CNBC, the products will be available at Walgreens locations in Oregon, Colorado, Kentucky, New Mexico, Tennessee, Vermont, South Carolina, Indiana, and Illinois.

Last week, shares in rival chain CVS saw a boost after the company announced it would sell topical CBD products in more than 800 of its own stores across eight states as part of a deal with Curaleaf Holdings.

Days after drugstore chain CVS announced its plan to introduce cannabidiol (CBD) products in certain stores this week, Walgreens has followed up with even bigger plans for the popular cannabinoid chemical.
